Costa Rican Blessings (Bendiciónes)
July 27th, 2007
Wow. What an amazing day.
Wednesday, the pastor of the church in Palmar (where we have been teaching VBS) came to our worksite to find me. His name is Melvin Mora. He and I talked a bit on Tuesday, and apparently, I left an impression. He took me to his casa and burned me a CD with about 50 songs that were special to him. I only brought one CD to Costa Rica with me, and it happened to be in my work bag. So, I gave it to Melvin. It took a few minutes for him to realize that it was me on the CD and that Casey and I had written the music, but when he did, he laughed, praised God, and began to weep. Finally, after about three hours, we gave each other our mailing addresses and promised we would write. He speaks fairly good English, but he wants me to learn Spanish (as does the other pastor) and come back next year. Melvin is even ripping a software program of the entire Bible in Spanish to help me learn.
I don't know my whole purpose here, but I know that God used me and Melvin both that day. It was amazing.
